Everything you need to know about Costco’s Hearing Aid Center

Frequently Asked Questions

What services are offered at Costco Hearing Aid Centers?

Costco Hearing Aid Centers are available in most parts of the country, as there are over 500 warehouses in the chain nationwide. Centers usually have licensed specialists who can administer tests and help you decide which products are best for you. (Unlike audiologists, hearing aid professionals are not required to have an advanced degree in audiology).

Some Costco hearing centers also have audiologists on staff. If seeing an audiologist is important to you, be sure to call the Costco you plan to visit to make sure this service is available before scheduling an appointment.

Free services offered at Costco hearing centers include:

  • hearing test (takes about an hour)
  • hearing aid product demonstrations
  • follow-up appointment
  • hearing aid cleaning and check-ups
  • hearing aid settings

To get started with the Costco Hearing Aid Center, you can book an appointment online and expedite the process by completing the Costco Patient Intake Form (available in English and Spanish) before entering.

Do I need to be a member to use Costco Hearing Centers?

Yes. Unlike his pharmacy, which is accessible to everyone, you must be a registered member. Members can schedule a “No Obligation Hearing Test” at any Costco Hearing Aid Center at no additional charge, with the option to purchase hearing aids the same day.

How much does Costco’s brand of hearing aids cost and which are available?

Costco is able to extend the savings to its members by buying in bulk and selling hearing aids at a lower or reduced price. Compared to an average cost of $2,000 to $3,000 for a pair, Costco sells for around $1,500. (The Kirkland Signature 10.0T model is even cheaper, starting at $1,399 a pair).

Costco also typically offers a two-year “loss and damage coverage” with no deductible, as well as a three-year warranty that varies by model. Note that because Costco’s savings are usually bundled into bundled packages, it doesn’t offer payment plans on hearing aids; you will need to pay the total cost in advance.

Costco offers five brands of hearing aids:

  • Signature Kirkland
  • Jabra
  • Phillips
  • Phonak
  • Rexton

Does Costco accept insurance?

Generally, Costco does not accept insurance for hearing aids. Unfortunately, hearing aids are generally not covered by health insurance plans, including Medicare. If you have an insurance plan that covers hearing aids, you can ask the Costco specialist if the products you need are covered. You will first need to pay for the aids and submit a claim for reimbursement with your insurance company.

Are Costco hearing aids available for shipping?

No. Costco hearing aids can only be purchased in person. But Costco offers limited remote support services for some of its hearing aid products.
