A game-changing âdime-sizedâ hearing aid would help millions of Americans, but cost $ 12,000 a pair! This new technology takes a different approach from traditional hearing aids with gentle vibrations.
According to NBC Washington story, traditional hearing aids make sounds a bit louder by using tiny speakers in the device. The new technology, however, uses a small lens to gently vibrate the eardrum to make sounds clearer and more natural.
The device can be installed without surgery and its settings could be adjusted via a simple iPhone. Cindy Griswold noted that she lost around 90% of her right ear hearing in 2008 and has since tried traditional hearing aids.
She noted that over time she felt like she needed more. She said she was always missing something when it came to conversations when there was actually a lot of background noise. She then discovered the Earlens device and tried it out. Other technological devices like the AI ââMRI screening tool can be used for dementia adaptation, such as in a hospital in Singapore.
She said she was amazed at how well she was able to hear. She could hear the heater ticking and everything. Ear, nose and throat specialist Dr. Seth Oringher of the Feldman ENT division in Chevy Chase, Md., Now calls the device a “game changer” for those with hearing problems.
FDA approved non-surgical lens
It has been noted that this is a condition that affects up to 40 million Americans. He noted that Earlens offers the world’s first FDA-approved non-surgical lens that directly vibrates the eardrum without using a speaker. Neuroengineering is also used to help treat drug addiction and other brain fog.
He noted that users are getting richer, clearer, and even more natural sound, which is a game-changer. The process would have taken two visits to the doctor’s office. The first thing to do is to make a mold of the patient’s ear which includes the eardrum. This is then sent to the company so that the devices can be personalized for the patient.

How it is installed
After two weeks, a small lens is placed in the patient’s eardrum and it is custom programmed by an audiologist. Oringher then noted that even with the use of a small lens, patients can still bathe, swim, and shower. The lens would potentially stay in place for years without even having to be removed!
Using the device’s Bluetooth, she could listen to podcasts and audiobooks directly from her hearing aid. She notes that the device has been with her since July and that she is grateful for the device.
The Earlens, however, is more expensive compared to traditional hearing aids but still less expensive compared to surgically implanted hearing aids. It would cost $ 12,000 to get a pair. Users can still use health insurance to cover part of the costs.
