A 12 hour course on hearing loss will be delivered via Zoom on June 9, 14, 16, 21, 23 and 28, hosted by Malta University Consulting Ltd. The short course is aimed at caregivers, family members, educators and other professionals. , and employers who want to learn more about hearing loss.
Hearing loss occurs when you lose some or all of your ability to hear. It can affect personal and professional life due to impaired communication. In addition to providing participants with detailed information about hearing loss, they will learn how to understand and interact with people with this condition.
Lectures will be given by Dr Nadine Tabone and Dr Andrew Sciberras. Tabone is a full-time lecturer at the University of Malta whose main academic focus is Audiology and Hearing Impairment, with a particular interest in Pediatric Hearing Impairment and Auditory Processing.
Sciberras has extensive experience in the field of audiology, including adult audiology, pediatric audiology and hearing aids. He played a key role in the introduction of the cochlear implant program in Malta.
